Terms
Terms of use
The terms for using the ClipSail app and this website.
Updated
These terms cover the ClipSail app and this website. By using either, you agree to them.
Who we are
ClipSail is published by roman10 ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@clipsail.app.
Using the app
- No account is required to use ClipSail.
- When you get the app from the App Store or Google Play, your use of it is also governed by that store's terms: Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service.
- Any purchases offered in the app are handled by Apple or Google under their terms.
- ClipSail's original code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, and the app includes open-source components, such as FFmpeg, that are licensed under their own terms. Nothing in these terms restricts the rights those licenses give you.
- Don't use ClipSail or this website to break the law or to infringe other people's rights, and don't try to disrupt or overload this website.
Your media
- You're responsible for having the right to convert, compress or extract audio from the files you use with ClipSail.
- ClipSail processes your files on your device. We don't receive them unless you send them to us yourself. See the privacy policy.
- Protected media is rejected.
Results vary
- Output size, quality and compatibility depend on the source file, the settings you choose and your device.
- Size estimates are approximate. Compression may not make a file smaller, and some files get larger.
- Your phone's operating system may pause, interrupt or stop processing, and completion isn't guaranteed once you leave the app. Interrupted work has to be restarted.
- Files outside the supported limits are rejected.
- ClipSail never overwrites or deletes your original, but a result stored only in the app can be lost, for example when you uninstall the app or your device fails. Keep your own copies of files that matter.
No warranty
ClipSail and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, roman10 isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or this website.
Some places don't allow these exclusions or limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law there permits. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
This website
The content on this website, including guides and release notes, is for general information. We try to keep it accurate, but the app's own screens and in-app help describe how the version you have works.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version replaces this page at the same address, with a new date at the top. If you keep using ClipSail after a change, the updated terms apply.
